Down Right Deceit
Author: admin

Do we ever actually have the right to talk down to someone?
If we are following Jesus, haven’t we given up those kind of rights?
21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, 22 WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH; 23 and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 25 For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
1 Peter 2:21-25
Anyone has the right to do and say what they please but, as a Believer I have given up those rights to Him. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:5-9 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
We are His and because of that we are to lift Him up in our lives, deny ourselves and pick up our cross and follow Him. It’s easy being mean and calculating. It’s not easy walking away from an argument or a situation that brings forth a haughty attitude. At times we feel justified in attacking someone just because they make us angry. Like the Word says, “Be ye angry but sin not.”
